Jonathan is also known as Philip Rick.  Jonathan was developed in New York in 1816.

Fruit:
Medium sized red fruit with little white flecks. Jonathan has a flattened top and bottom.

Early April

Bloom Color:
Light pink - white

Pollination:
Diploid

October

EMLA 26 Dwarf Mature Height 10-12ft.
EMLA 111 Semi-Dwarf Mature Height 18-22ft.

Tree Characteristics:
A Jonathan tree is smaller compared to other apple trees, but bears heavy young crops.  Although self-fertile it is best when cross pollinated with other varieties.

Comments:
Excellent for eating and cooking, Jonathan makes very good pie.
